Dhawn Buchanan, a 5th grade teacher at Southwest Elementary School in Williston, TN is the latest educator to be selected as the AP&T and Tennessee Titan "Teacher of the Week" - for the week of the Titans vs. Giants game on Sept. 26

American Paper & Twine Co. is proud to announce this weeks’ Teacher of the Week, Dhawn Buchanan. A 5th grade teacher at Southwest Elementary School in Williston, TN, Ms. Buchanan’s nominator, a grandparent of a student, wrote in part, "She told me that she is proud to have my child in her class this year…[she] always takes extra time for the students and parents to explain and help…It shows that she loves teaching. Children love her."

This is the second year that American Paper & Twine Co. has driven this popular teacher recognition program, and this year Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers joined AP&T, Titans Radio and Sharpie products in sponsorship. A committee made up of representatives from American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio, and Georgia-Pacific selected Ms. Buchanan unanimously out of dozens of nominations to be Teacher of the Week for the week of the Titans vs. Giants game on 9-26-10.

The committee selects an outstanding teacher for each regular season game. Each of these teachers, Buchanan included, will receive $400 in school supplies from American Paper & Twine Co. and Sharpie and Expo products; a commemorative award; and name recognition on Titans Radio during that week’s game. At the end of the season, one Teacher of the Week recipient will be selected as the Teacher of the Year. This teacher will receive $800 in school supplies, a commemorative award, four tickets to the Titans-Texans football game at LP Field on December 19, hotel accommodations, transportation, name recognition on Titans radio and a live award ceremony on the field during the game!
