American Paper & Twine Co. is proud to announce our first Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Beth Estep

By unanimous decision amongst the Titans, Titans Radio and American Paper, Beth Estep, an 11th and 12th grade teacher at Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, TN was chosen to be the Teacher of the Year. With this honor, Ms.Estep receives $800 in classroom supplies furnished by AP&T, Sanford Products, and Lexmark and 5 all- expense paid tickets to the Dec. 25 Titans game against San Diego. She will also be honored on the field before or during the game.
Ms. Estep is truly an exceptional teacher who is responsible for helping nearly 70 at-risk students graduate as the lead teacher in an intervention program called ROAR. According to her nominator, the principal of the school - “her teaching duties include being a parent to some students, a big sister to others, a friend to yet more and a caring role model to all of them. The students in her program are often poor, homeless or pregnant. They may be victims of parental abuse, abusers themselves, or have just lost their way. Motivating this group is exhausting, and Beth knows she can never let up on them, because one can be lost in the blink of an eye. She counsels and consoles, encourages and enables. And if that doesn’t work, Beth visits their homes, talks to their grandparents and emails to their classmates…”
Overall, the Teacher of the Week competition was a great success; Titans radio literally received hundreds of nominations from all over the State, and it gave AP&T a chance to recognize and help support arguably the most important public servants in our communities, teachers.
