Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers partners with American Paper & Twine Co. for the 2010 Teacher of the Year Competition

American Paper & Twine Co. is pleased to announce that Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers has partnered with us along with Titans Radio and Sharpie/Expo for this Titans season in sponsorship of the 2010 Teacher of the Year program.

Last years’ program was a great success. The committee poured though hundreds of nominations each week to select the Teacher of the Week, culminating in the Teacher of the Year, Oak Ridge High Schools’ Beth Estep. We expect more than twice as many nominations this year. Here’s the low-down…

Who? Students, parents, principals, colleagues, or anyone who would like to recognize an outstanding teacher in the Tennessee Titans radio listening area are encouraged to submit nominations for the 2010 American Paper & Twine Co. and Georgia-Pacific Teacher of the Year.  The Teacher of the Year program will recognize deserving public and private school teachers in grades Pre-K through 12 throughout the entire Titans radio listening area who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty and inspire their students to succeed in school and in life.

What? For each regular season game during the 2010 Titans Football season, one teacher will be selected through a nomination process as the Teacher of the Week.  This teacher will receive $400 in school supplies from American Paper & Twine Co. and Sharpie and Expo products; a commemorative award; and name recognition on Titans Radio during that week’s game.

At the end of the season, one Teacher of the Week recipient will beselected as the Teacher of the Year. This teacher will receive $800 in school supplies, a commemorative award, four tickets to the Titans-Texans football game at LP Field on December 19, hotel accommodations, transportation, name recognition on Titans radio and a live award ceremony on the field during the game!
