Bob Doochin

CEO Emeritus

Bob was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a B.S. in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 1962. As the second generation to operate American Paper & Twine, Bob grew up working at the company under the leadership of his father, Nathan Doochin, who founded the business in 1926. After graduating from college, Bob came to work at AP&T in a full-time capacity, eventually becoming President and Chief Executive Officer in 1982. He held those titles until 2020 when his daughter, Karen Doochin Vingelen, became President and he served as Chairman and CEO. In December 2021, AP&T became a division of Imperial Dade and Bob became CEO Emeritus.

Karen Doochin Vingelen

Senior Vice President - South Central Region

Although Karen grew up working summers in the business with her father, current CEO Emeritus Bob Doochin, and grandfather, she did not officially join the American Paper & Twine team until 1998 after a brief career in social work. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1992 with a degree in Psychology and then obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 1994. During her time at AP&T, Karen has been a driving force in modernizing business practices, particularly on the operational side of the business. She assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer in August 2020 and became Senior Vice President of the South Central Region in December 2021 when AP&T was acquired by Imperial Dade. 

Mark Wright

Executive Vice President

Mark was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1986, he graduated from Belmont University in Nashville and that same year came to work at American Paper & Twine as a Sales Representative. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and oversees and manages the entire sales department. He is also heavily involved in operations, merchandising, vendor management and purchasing.

Tim Ryan

Senior Vice President - Finance

Tim was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Robinson, Illinois. He graduated from DePaul University with a B.S. in Commerce. A Certified Public Accountant, Tim has served in various audit, tax, and finance roles with companies, such as McGladrey & Pullen (RSM), CCH, RR Donnelley, and Aramark. In 2008, Tim relocated from Chicago to Nashville, joining American Paper & Twine as a Financial Analyst. Over the years, Tim moved up in the finance department and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance in December 2021. Besides overseeing the finance functions, he is heavily involved in purchasing, vendor management, and operations.

Brad Walker

Vice President - Western Region

Brad was born in Jackson, Tennessee, later going on to graduate from State Technical Institute and the University of Memphis in 1993.  After earning his degree, he took a position with Corporate Express where he stayed for over 21 years as an Executive Manager. In 2009, he joined the American Paper & Twine team as the General Manager in Memphis. In 2017, Brad was promoted to Vice President of the Western Region with oversight for our Memphis and Little Rock distribution facilities. He is also now responsible for the sales operation in our Muscle Shoals and Tupelo branches.

Brian Leitch

Vice President - Eastern Region

Brian was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After earning an undergraduate business degree from Miami University, he began his professional career at Lucent Technologies as part of their Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP). While employed at Lucent, he earned a graduate degree in accounting and entrepreneurship from Babson College near Boston, Massachusetts. Shortly after attaining his graduate degree, Brian joined American Paper and Twine in 2011 as the General Manager of our Knoxville facility. In 2017, Brian was promoted to the Regional Director of the Eastern Division with oversight for the Knoxville and Chattanooga distribution facilities. In 2020 he became Vice President of the Eastern Region.

Steve Mazzie

Vice President – Central Region

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Steve later made the move to Tampa, Florida, where he went on to graduate from The University of South Florida with a degree in Speech Communications. He spent 12 years with Rubbermaid Commercial Products, serving as National Account Manager before being promoted to Director of Field Sales. Afterward, he worked as Senior Vice President-Sales for SC Johnson Professional. Steve joined the American Paper & Twine team in September 2020 as Vice President of the Central Region, overseeing sales in our Nashville and Atlanta branches.

Amie Potter

Vice President – HR & Customer Service

Originally from Springfield, Ohio, Amie planted roots in Nashville at a young age after relocating for her father’s job which was, interestingly enough, at American Paper & Twine. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated in 1998. Following graduation, she managed multiple retail operations throughout the southeast before joining the AP&T team in 2006 as a Customer Service Representative. She subsequently held roles as a Customer Service Manager, Director of Customer Service, and Director of Training & Development. As of 2021, she serves as Vice President of HR & Customer Service, overseeing the Account Support and Human Resources teams.

Brad Maguire

Vice President – Information Technology

Brad was born in Massachusetts but spent most of his life in Rhode Island. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Providence College in 1992, and his MBA from Bryant University in 2002, with a concentration in Computer Information Systems. Since an early age, Brad has always had a passion for computers and technology. He began his career with Infor, working almost 16 years as a Programmer, Analyst, and Manager of ERP Implementations. He joined American Paper & Twine in 2011, moving to Nashville in 2012 to build and lead the IT team. He was promoted to Vice President of Information Technology in November 2021 and currently oversees all aspects of technology, including networking, IT security, infrastructure, software, hardware, communications, and support.

Patrick Kieffaber

Vice President – Warehouse Operations & Logistics

Patrick was born in Kansas City, Missouri but grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1991, he began his professional career in operational leadership with companies such as Hallmark Cards, Bic Graphic USA, and Avery Dennison. After earning his MBA, Patrick worked as Director of Operations for Avery’s Specialty Materials division. He later accepted a position at Grace Construction Products in the Nashville area. His significant experience in warehouse and manufacturing operations led to his joining American Paper & Twine in 2016. He was promoted to Vice President of Warehouse Operations & Logistics in February 2021.
